Du hast vergessen, dich an der „Kaliningrad State Technical University“ zu immatrikulieren?Kein Problem, denn an der Hochschule Nordhausen gab es vom 23. April bis zum 27. April 2018, im Rahmen der 20. Internationalen Projektwoche (IPW) genügend internationale Projekte, um diese verpasste Chance dennoch nutzen zu können.Egal ob von der „British University in Egypt“ oder der „Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Katowicach“ – Hauptsache England, wie unser Ex-Nationalspieler Andreas Möller gesagt hätte. Mit über 31 Projekten aus 17 verschiedenen Ländern bot die IPW ein umfangreiches Angebot für Studenten dar. Ein Geheimtipp für Studenten mit sozialem und musikalischem Interesse war das Projekt „Basket Beat: Sport, Art, Education and Social Transformation“ von der spanischen Organisation „Basket Beat: esport, art, educació i acció social“. Dort konnten die Teilnehmer vieles über socio-educational support und community arts bases lernen. Die Abschlusspräsentation bestand aus einer eigens entworfenen Choreographie im Takt der Basketballmusik. Sportlich ging es auch bei dem Projekt „Leadership & Gatka“ von der „AK OPTIMIZE LIMITED“ aus dem United Kingdom zu. Der besondere Reiz bestand hierbei in der Verknüpfung der alten indischen Kampfkunst Gatka mit ökonomischen Themen. Alle Projekte waren hands-on und sehr anwendungsorientiert.Aufgrund der Zusammenkunft mit guestlecturers und students aus aller Welt waren auch Nicht-nativespeaker angehalten, ausschließlich auf Englisch miteinander zu kommunizieren. So konnten alle Beteiligten von- und miteinander lernen. Das bedeutet, selbst wenn man kein nativspeaker war, konnte man seine English skills durch praktische Anwendung optimieren. Ökonomisch interessierte Studenten waren besonders gut in Projekten wie „Customer Relationship Development“ von der „Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulu“ aus Finnland aufgehoben (Siehe Gruppenfoto oben).Weniger Formal und work-oriented ging es auf der IPW-Party im Karzer zu. Trotz des schlechten Wetters herrschte eine gute Stimmung und man konnte sich bei einem oder zwei kühlen Drinks mit den Gastdozenten auch privat gut unterhalten. Außerdem konnte man sich aus erster Hand Informationen für ein Auslandsstudium einholen und erste Kontakte aufbauen.Als Abschluss der 20. Internationalen Projektwoche gab es herausragende Präsentationen der Projekte – selbstverständlich auf Englisch.Mit Projektwochen wie dieser, leistet die Hochschule Nordhausen wieder einmal etwas, was ihr keine andere Hochschule so schnell nachmacht: Die perfekte Vorbereitung auf das spätere Berufsleben in einer barrierefreien, internationalen Arbeitswelt.Now it’s up to you: Be a part of the next IPW!(Beitrag von Yannik Köchy, Philipp Haberkorn, Tim Schöbel)_____________________________________________________You forgot to enrol at Kaliningrad State Technical University?No problem, during the International Project Week (IPW) from 23rd to 27th April 2018 Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences offered enough international projects to make it up.Regardless of being from the British University in Egypt or the Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Katowicac“ – as long as it’s England, as German football player Andreas Möller would have said*. With more than 31 projects from 17 different countries the IPW provided a large offer for the students. An insiders‘ tip for students being interested in social and musical issues was the project „Basket Beat: Sport, Art, Education and Social Transformation“ from the Spanish organisation „Basket Beat: esport, art, educació i acció social“. It enabled students to learn a lot about socio-educational support and community arts bases. The final presentation of the group was a self-designed choreography in step with the basketballs‘ music. Physical activity also played an important role in the project „Leadership & Gatka“ teached by „AK Optimize Limited“ from the United Kingdom. The special feature of this project was the combination of the old Indian fighting art Gatka with economical issues. All projects were hands-on and focused on application.As guest lecturers and students from all over the world came together, everybody (including non-native speakers) communicated in English. Thus all participants could learn from and with each other. This means that, even not being a native speaker, everybody could improve their English skills. Students with interest in economics did a good choice selecting projects such as „Customer Relationship Development“ with lecturers from „Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulu“ in Finland (see group picture above).Less formal and work-oriented was the IPW party in the Karzer club. Despite the bad weather the atmosphere was good and one could talk socially with the guest lecturers over a drink or two. There was also the possibility to build contacts and get first-hand information for a study period abroad.Finalizing the 20th International Project Week there were outstanding presentations of the projects – in English of course!With project weeks like this Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is raising the bar for other universities: a perfect preparation for working life in a barrier-free, international environment.Now it’s up to you: be a part of the next IPW!*: Möller’s „Milan or Madrid – as long as it’s Italy“ is one of the most famous football quotations in Germany.(Translated by our International Office)
