Interessierst du dich für interkulturelle Arbeit, den Austausch mit anderen Europäern und vielleicht auch dafür ein Online-Spiel in einem internationale Rahmen zu entwickeln, das in Schulklassen in ganz Europa genutzt wird?
Die Hochschule Nordhausen ist Teil des internationalen Projekts „Citizen Games“, das von 2019 bis 2022 im Rahmen des Förderprogramms Erasmus+ von der Europäischen Union finanziert wird. Studierende aus fünf verschiedenen europäischen Hochschulen entwickeln gemeinsam ein Serious Game zu den Themen a) Europäische Grundrechte für Kinder, b) Sexismus und Cybermobbing oder c) Umweltschutz und Plastikmüll. Serious Games sind Online-Spiele mit einem pädagogischen Zweck. Die entwickelten Spiele sollen später in weiterführenden Schulen in Europa genutzt werden und zum Diskutieren über die Themen anregen.
Dafür werden nun Studierende aller Studienrichtungen gesucht, die Zeit und Lust haben im Rahmen eines interdisziplinären internationalen Austauschprogramms ein Spiel für die Mittelschule (12-15 Jahre) zu entwickeln. Entsprechend der Coronabestimmungen ist das Projekt als online-Variante erstellt worden und nutzt dafür modernste Technik wie Virtual Reality. Das Kernprojekt findet vom 15.-20. März 2021 statt. In Vorbereitung darauf wird es drei bis vier kleinere Trainingseinheiten geben, um auf das Projekt vorzubereiten.
Das Projekt selbst findet in gemischten Gruppen statt, sodass Studierende mit unterschiedlichem kulturellen Hintergrund zusammen an der Erstellung eines Prototyps für ein Spiel arbeiten. Vorkenntnisse im Bereich Online Spiele oder Softwaregestaltung sind nicht notwendig. Während des Projektes werden Mitarbeiter der Projektpartner die Betreuung leiten.
Für die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an dem Projekt können, neben einem Zertifikat für das Erwerben interkultureller Kompetenzen, 2 ECTS credits vergeben werden. Außerdem wird darüber verhandelt, ob die Teilnahme an dem Projekt als Alternative für die Internationalen Projektwoche (IPW) angerechnet werden kann.

Are you in the mood for European exchange, in the mood to develop a digital game in an
international environment, a game which will be used in schools in the whole of Europe?
The Hochschule Nordhausen is part of the international “Citizen Games” project, which is financed by the European Union through Erasmus+ from 2019 to 2022. In this project students from five different European universities develop together “Serious Games” about topics like a) European Children’s Rights, b) Sexism and Cyberbullying, and 3) Environmental Protection and Plastic Waste. Serious games are digital games with an educational purpose. The developed games shall be used afterwards in middle and high schools in Europa to spark discussions about these topics.
For the first part of the project we are searching for students from all disciplines who have time
and interest to develop a game for middle school (age 12-15) during an interdisciplinary, international exchange. Due to Corona restrictions the project is conceptualized as an online mobility using modern technology and virtual reality. The core project will take place from March 15 to March 20. Beforehand there will be three or four smaller pre-project training sessions about game development and the project’s topics in the first two weeks of March.
In the core phase of the project you will be divided in groups with students from different backgrounds to develop a concept and a first prototype of a „serious game“. Previous knowledge in game development and/or software are not necessary. During the mobility you will be coached by staff from the project partners.
For successful participation in the project there is an opportunity to be awarded 2 ECTS credits points. They will be considered according to the examination regulations of your respective course of study as successful participation in the International Project Week. They also count for the Certificate of Intercultural Skills from the Hochschule Nordhausen.
If you need some additional equipment to participate in this international project, expenses for this equipment can be reimbursed.

About the project:
The project, created by NGOs and Higher Education Institutions of 7 European countries, aims to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and respectful European society by raising the awareness and empowerment of youth and their teachers to European citizenship, gender equality and environmental protection. For 3 years, serious games will be designed for middle and high schools’ pupils to use in class in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Portugal, Poland and Germany. It is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ agency.
